MISO is an independent, not-for-profit, member-based organization focused on managing the flow of high-voltage electricity across its region, facilitating one of the world's largest energy markets, and planning the grid of the future. Our mission is to manage the reliable delivery of low-cost wholesale energy for distribution to the 45 million people living in our region.

MISO continually develops and integrates ESG practices into its business model.

MISO is committed to understanding how environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles impact business, member strategies and the RTO’s reputation. ESG scores help stakeholders, creditors and investors assess non-financial business factors. While ESG scoring is new to MISO, the concepts of environmental stewardship, social responsibility and strong governance are not.
