Baljit "Bal" Dail is a senior advisor to New Mountain Capital, a private equity firm based in New York. Prior to his advisory role, Dail was the chairman and CEO of JDA Software, the leading provider of retail and supply chain solutions. Prior to leading JDA Software he was a managing director at New Mountain Capital.
Previously, Director Dail was chief executive officer of Aon Hewitt. He also held senior executive positions with Aon Corp., Aon Benfield and Aon Consulting. Under his leadership, Aon Consulting grew organically in line with peers and industry-leading margins. He was selected as one of Consulting Magazine’s 2010 Top 25 Consultants of the Year.
Dail is a former principal with the management consultancy McKinsey and Company. He also served as vice president of strategic planning for Starwood Hotels and Resorts, and held a number of senior management positions at JP Morgan and British retailer Marks and Spencer. He began his career in the technology group at Ford Motor Co.
He chairs MISO’s Technology Committee and also serves on the Markets Committee and the Human Resources Committee.
In his previous role as a member of the Audit & Finance Committee, Dail exercised oversight responsibility for the company’s budget, financial performance and all internal and external audits. He reviewed the plans and budget for the construction of two new data centers, as well as the plans and budget for the information technology equipment in the new data centers.
Director Dail also serves on the boards of Model N, One Digital, Beeline and Sparta Systems.
He was previously the chair of the Compensation Committee of Western Dental and served on the boards of Alexander Mann Solutions, IRi and AmWins.
He earned a degree in computer science from the University of Warwick, in Warwick, UK.
