MISO's headquarters is nestled in the heart of Carmel, IN, just north of Indianapolis. Operations are shared between our Carmel, Eagan, MN. and Little Rock, AR offices. We also maintain a South Region Transmission Planning office in Metairie, LA..

MISO supports its entire footprint by ensuring reliable, efficient and sustainable delivery of electricity. We also strive to be good citizens of our local communities by supporting employee volunteerism, participating in blood drives and maintaining close relationship with regional chapters of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The Carmel, Indiana headquarters of MISO receives visitors from near and far. Whether you’re conducting business, attending a training session, interviewing for a job or starting an internship, we hope you have time to enjoy beautiful Carmel, Ind., and all that the surrounding Indianapolis area offers. 

Getting Here

A skyway across Carmel Drive connects the main MISO office building and our network operations center. You’ll find entrances to our visitor parking lot next to the Primrose School on West Carmel Drive and one for southeast-bound visitors only on City Center Drive (right-turn-only entrance).

Getting Out

We’re a short drive from old town Carmel’s Arts and Design District , the Clay Terrace  outdoor lifestyle center and The Fashion Mall at Keystone. Each area features shopping, dining and entertainment. The immediate area also offers dining options ranging from sandwich shops to fine dining.

  • Nicknamed the Circle City, Indianapolis offers culture, sports, entertainment and more.
  • Rent a bike or blades and explore the Monon Greenway and Trail.
  • Catch sporting contests by the NFL Colts, NBA Pacers, WNBA Fever or MiLB Indians.
  • Enjoy performing arts in the acoustically perfect Palladium in Carmel.
  • Explore the Indiana History Museum, Indianapolis Museum of Art, Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art, Indianapolis Museum of Contemporary Art and more.

Where to Stay

Located in Eagan, Minnesota MISO's North Operations Center primarily houses engineers and system operators and our state-of-the-art control center gives these operators the tools needed to manage the grid in our North Region.  Each year, we welcome a class of interns, and we occasionally offer co-op positions for academic credit. Although the Carmel headquarters features our primary, state-of-the-art training center, industry leaders may also access select classes from Eagan.

From Ames Crossing Road take a left onto Paradise Lane. The office building sits on the corner of Paradise Lane and Ames Crossing Road.  You may access the building parking lot from the first entrance on Paradise Lane.

Getting Out

We’re located in the Boulder Lakes Business Park Complex just five miles north of downtown Eagan. For easy access to the Mall of America and light rail access to downtown Minneapolis plan your stay close to the airport.

Planning a trip to Eagan during the summer? Be sure to bring the family! Eagan is home to the "Heavyweight Champion of Cool" as described by the St. Paul Pioneer Press — Cascade Bay Waterpark is the state's biggest and best municipal outdoor aquatic facility.

Commonly known as the Twin Cities, the Minneapolis/St. Paul area provides big city amenities with a Midwest feel.

Where to Stay

The Arkansas River weaves its way through the stone outcropping that gave this city its name. Little Rock is home to MISO’s South Region Operations Center. The South Region Operations Center resides in West Little Rock near the I430 and I630 interchange.

Getting Here

Exit I630 to Financial Centre Parkway .Turn left onto Embassy Suites Drive then continue onto Centerview Drive. You will see the MISO sign on the corner of Centerview Drive and Executive Center Drive. You are welcome to park in the main parking lot in front of the building.

Getting Out

  • Downtown Little Rock hosts the River Market District, the “lifeblood of Little Rock’s downtown scene.” During the day, the District is home to an array of food vendors that will fulfill any culinary craving; by night, the District hosts live entertainment of all styles.
  • If baseball piques your interest, grab a ticket to Dickey-Stephens Park to the watch Arkansas’s minor league baseball team, the Arkansas Travelers.
  • Make time to explore the Clinton Library at the Clinton Center, which houses one of the largest collections of American presidential history or tour the Arkansas Art Museum during your stay in The Natural State.
  • Hungry? There are many options for delicious BBQ. Be sure to stop by Doe’s Eat Place where the tamales are hot and steak is ordered by the pound.

Metairie, Louisiana is home to MISO’s South Region Transmission Planners. The MISO office overlooks Lake Pontchartrain, just north of the beautiful city of New Orleans. Regardless of the reason for your visit to Metairie, be it a planning meeting or a training session, we encourage you to set aside some time to explore the historical richness of Jefferson Parish.


Getting Here

The office is located on the 4th floor of the Lakeway 2 building. If driving North on North Causeway Boulevard, turn left on 6th street and right onto 5th Street. Visitors should park in the Lakeway 2 parking garage on the left side of 5th Street. Once parked, take the elevator to the 4th floor. Find us in Suite #442.

Getting Out

The Metairie office is a short drive from Veterans Boulevard which is home to the Lakeside Shopping Center and a number of fantastic restaurants. You can also tour and fish Lake Pontchartrain or check out the Triple-A World Series Champion New Orleans Zephrys at Zephry Field.

  • Metairie is the largest community in Jefferson Parish.
  • The Causeway Bridge is the longest highway bridge over water in the world measuring just under 24 miles.
  • Explore one of the many features of Metairie’s 155-acre park, Lafreniere Park which bodes. seasonal boating, a 2-mile jogging trail and two outdoor fitness centers.
  • Catch a show at the historical Jefferson Performing Arts Theater.
