Operators receive the most current and relevant industry information in courses selected and designed with the help of the System Operator Training Working Group (SOTWG). This team of trainers represents local balancing authorities throughout the MISO region who work to align regional practices and meet common training needs for MISO system operators.
MISO (MISO_001) is recognized by the North American Electric Reliability Corporation as a continuing education provider who adheres to the NERC Continuing Education Program criteria. Check the Learning Management System (LMS) for additional information about NERC hours associated with our training.

Come prepared to participate in the creation of an actual course/module!
MISO training staff and SOTWG offer a trainers’ workshop that provides practical experience creating training courses in accordance with NERC standards. Using a systematic approach, trainers work in groups on tasks to identify knowledge requirements and objectives in order to develop assessments. Participants walk away with an actual course or module that is ready for use by system operators in addition to a valuable hands-on experience for future in-house training development.
