External Interface Changes
MISO is continually updating and configuring its systems to maintain optimal performance. As changes are made, MISO posts External Interface Change Schedules to provide customers with the details of all external facing system changes that may impact their business processes. These notifications are posted to the System Status/Technical Updates page.
Required External Interface Changes
Required external interface changes are those anticipated to require modifications to Market Participant systems. Examples include introducing new required tags in XML specifications and implementing a new interface which require participants to implement as well.
MISO normally provides Market Participants with ninety (90) days lead time prior to implementing required external interface changes.
Optional External Interface Changes
Optional external interface changes are those unlikely to require modifications to Market Participant systems. Examples include introducing new functions or features to an interface that Market Participants are not required to implement and changing a required tag to an optional tag.
MISO normally provides Market Participants with thirty (30) days lead time prior to implementing optional external interface changes.
