Prices

Locational Marginal Price (LMP)

LMPs are:

  • Impacted by Energy and Operating Reserves offers
  • Posted hourly for the Day-Ahead Market
  • Posted every five minutes and time-weighted hourly for each CPNode for the Real-Time Market
  • Different based on time and location, due to congestion and loss factors; in an unconstrained system with no losses or congestions, LMPs would all be equal.
  • The same at a particular node for buying and selling in the market.
